COGNITIVE MAP FOR ROBOTS
Recently, I worked on how the robotic "cognitive map" can be applied to the SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) problem. This paper has been accepted by International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS) 2003.
This follow-up paper was presented at the AAAI 2005 Fall Symposium.
If you know "cognitive map", you have probably heard of Edward Tolman. Sometime ago, I implemented his schematic sowbug, and the paper was accepted by Internatinal Conference of Robotics and Automation (ICRA) 2001.
